The Guide categories page lets you create, order, and toggle help categories that group articles in the lobby's Guide section. It is used when adding new article headings such as deposit guides, gameplay instructions, or FAQs. It is suited for content managers and administrators who want to organize articles clearly so players can find answers quickly.

- Permission: You must have the 'Guide categories' permission granted by your administrator to access this page and create, edit, or delete categories.
- What to prepare:
- Category names in both Thai and English (up to 100 characters each).
- A planned display order for the categories in the lobby.
- Key rules:
- You must create at least one category before you can create articles in the Guides menu.
- Newly created categories are displayed automatically at the end of the list.

When opening this page, you will see the following key areas:
- Page header: Displays the page title Guide categories, subtitle "The headings guides are grouped under in the lobby", a shortcut button Guides (switches to the Guides article list), and the Add category button.
- Filter tabs: Located under the header to filter categories by status: All categories, Shown in the lobby, Hidden, and Deleted.
- Search & filters bar: Search input for category names plus expandable advanced filters for dates and administrators.
- Refresh bar & counter: Refresh button and total category count text (e.g., "5 categories").
- Data table: Displays each category's order, name, guide counts, last updated details, status switch, and action buttons.
- Pagination: Located at the bottom to navigate pages and adjust rows per page (10, 20, 50).

6. Step-by-step instructions
1. Creating a new category
- Go to Lobby pages > Guide categories from the left navigation menu.
- Press the Add category button at the top right.
- Fill in both Name (Thai) and Name (English).
- Check the right sidebar:
- The Status switch is defaulted to Shown in the lobby (new categories are placed at the end of the list).
- Press Add category (or Save).
- A green notification "Category added" will confirm success, and you will return to the list.
2. Editing a category
- In the category table, press the Edit button (pencil icon) in the desired row.
- Update the Thai or English name as needed.
- If you want to change its position, select a new number from the Order dropdown in the right panel.
- Press Save changes.
- A green notification "Category saved" will confirm the update.
3. Reordering categories
You can change category order using 3 methods:
- Method 1 (Step by step): Press the Up or Down arrow in the Order column.
- Method 2 (Jump to position): Click the numbered circle badge directly (or select ... > Move to place…), pick the desired number in the dialog, and press Move.
- Method 3 (Top or Bottom): Open the ... menu on the row and select Move to top or Move to bottom.
4. Showing or hiding a category
- Find the toggle switch in the Status column for the category.
- Toggle the switch:
- Switch to On (Green) to show this category in the lobby.
- Switch to Off (Gray) to temporarily hide this category.
- The system saves immediately and notifies "Category is now shown in the lobby" or "Category is now hidden".
[!NOTE]
When a category is hidden, all guide articles filed under this category are automatically hidden from players in the lobby as well.
5. Deleting a category
- Verify that there are no guides remaining in this category (the Guides column must show 0). If guides exist, go to the Guides menu to reassign or delete them first.
- Toggle the Status switch to Hidden (Gray).
- Open the ... menu on the row and select Delete (red trash icon).
- In the dialog "Delete this category?", press Delete to confirm.
- The system displays "Category deleted" and moves it to the Deleted tab.

Bottom section: Guides in this category (edit mode only)
In edit mode, a list of guides belonging to this category is displayed at the bottom:
- Lists each guide's position, title, last updated timestamp, and status (active/inactive).
- Click any row to jump directly to that guide's edit page.
- Includes pagination if there are more than 10 articles.
8. หน้าต่างป็อปอัพ / Popups and modals
1. Reorder dialog
- Triggered when: Clicking the order number circle badge or choosing ... > Move to place….
- What appears: Category name, current position, target position dropdown, and action buttons.
- Action required: Choose the destination position and press Move (or Cancel).
- Result: The category moves to the new position and surrounding items shift automatically.
2. Confirm delete dialog
- Triggered when: Pressing Delete from the row's ... menu.
- What appears: Warning prompt stating
"Category name" will be removed. This cannot be undone. with Cancel and Delete buttons.
- Action required: Verify the category name and press red Delete button.
- Result: Category is deleted from the active list and archived in the Deleted tab.
3. Version conflict dialog
- Triggered when: Another administrator saved changes to this category concurrently (code 1005).
- What appears: Warning notifying that changes were made by another user and requires reloading.
- Action required: Press reload button to fetch the latest state.

10. คำถามที่เจอบ่อย / Troubleshooting FAQ
- Why is the delete button disabled/grayed out?
- Check whether the status switch is still Shown in the lobby. If yes, turn it off to Hidden first.
- If already hidden, check the Guides column. If it is greater than 0, the system prevents deletion ("This category still has guides. Move or delete them first."). Move or delete all guides inside first.
- Why does the error "Another category already has this name" appear?
- The Thai or English name matches an existing category. Change the name to be unique.
- Why is the category not visible in the lobby despite being turned on?
- Check if there are active guides inside. If a category is empty or all its articles are hidden, the lobby will not display the category tab until at least one article is set to Shown in the lobby.
- Cannot save edits:
- Verify that both Thai and English names are filled and do not exceed 100 characters.
